 Smirnoff was founded by Pyotr Arsenievich Smirnov in 1880s in Moscow but that time it was known Smirnov from his name. The vodka distillery was sold during the Russian war under the Pyotr’s son Vladimir who latter after the war started a new vodka distillery but now in Lwow, Poland. He re-established his vodka brand but now used the French spelling of his name, Smirnoff in 1934. This vodka has changed it ownership a few times but it is now owned by the Diageo brand. Smirnoff vodka is a triple distilled spirit which is produced in large multi-column still from North America grain. Its charcoal is filtered and bottled at 40% alcohol by volume. In October 2018, Smirnoff is now made with non-GMO grain, Specifically non-GMO corn. It is gluten free.

Bottle

The spirit comes in a clear tall glass bottle. The bottle is round around the bottom making it sit well on selves or on tables. Has a red label at the front written in white (Smirnoff) and at the base has a label written in re (N0 21). The bottle is topped with a red metallic topper that goes slightly at the bottle’s neck which is long and suitable for a grip. The topper also has a very attractive goldish (Smirnoff No 21) writing. Aromas

The spirit hits with scents of fine grains spice, a sweep of citrus (lemon and lime) zest, and light touches of mint.

Finish
