Bulldog is a dry gin launched in the year 2007 by Anshuman Vohra in London and later sold to Gruppo Campari in 2017 now produced in UK with alcohol content of 40%(80proof). Bulldog gin was named after Wiston Churchill’s nickname of The British Bulldog. It is bold, vivacious and a refreshing take on the popular distilled spirit, an impressive, premium gin that is made with poppy, dragon eye, lotus leaves, citrus, almond, lavender and various other botanicals 12 in total. It is four times distilled in copper pot stills and can be used to create some very impressive cocktail. Poppy and dragon’s eye distinguish bulldog from all other gins.

Bulldog Gin which is carefully distilled at Bulldog is adored for its floral, liquorice. lavender and coriander flavor notes.

The bottle

The bottle is dark, stout, and crowned with a spiked dog collar around the neck.

Appearance

Clear and iridescent, sprightly, displays some legs on swirling, which then become droplets on the side of the glass.

Aromas

Has a fresh melon, lime, cucumber and geranium.

Taste

Has a medium weight body with pleasant aromatic blend of spice, mild tingling on the lips.

Finish

Offers a lingering finish, very clean, with a very interesting mixture of spices including cinnamon and cardamom.

Cocktail

Bulldog Gin is at its best as a mixing gin and makes a good cherry Gin and Tonic with almost any tonic.

On the other side, its absolutely obscured in cocktail like the Negroni.

Recipe of cherry gin and tonic

   Ingredients

·         6 ripe sweet cherries

·         1/4 cup gin

·         2 teaspoons lime juice

·         Tonic water to taste

·         Sliced lime

Step to make

1.Pit cherries and put them in a cocktail shaker or large glass. Use a muddler or large wooden spoon to muddle or gently crush them.

2. Add the gin and lime juice, cover, and shake vigorously for a minute.

3.Fill 2 glasses with ice and strain the cherry-gin mixture in equal measure over the ice.

 

4.Add tonic to fill the glass or to taste and garnish with lime.
