Chivas is one of the most ubiquitous spirit brands in the planet. Chivas Regal 12-year-old is an original luxury scotch founded in 1801 but launched in 1909 in Scotland by the Chivas brothers John and James. Chivas Regal produces other scotch like the Chivas 18 years old, 25-year-old and 15-year-old. It is a blended Scotch whisky of two note grain whisky and Contains 40% alcohol by volume. It is a very pale-yellow hue color on a pour.

AT THE NOSE

It’s a bit shy, and comes across as fairly light. There are equal parts red fruit, honey and graham crackers. In the glass, a touch of spices and floral notes come through. After a longer ret in he glass there’s vanilla and caramel appearing.

PALATE

Light to almost medium bodied fruity of cherries and strawberries, soft caramels, a touch of spice, a bit of cocoa powder, some black pepper coming through.

THE FINISH

Offers a vanilla at first, a bit of oak, a slight nuttiness, some cloves, honey and a touch of orange zest bitterness near the end the finish.
